New Delhi, October 11, 2013: Though Mr.Olympia and Arnold Classic, the two most famous bodybuilding contests have captured the hearts of the enthusiasts, the third largest contest – Sheru Classic is yet to spread its magic this year. The Sheru Classic professional bodybuilding championship 2013 will be hosted in Pune ate Balewadi Stadium on 26th and 27th of October. With many of the world famous professionals converging in this event, the organizers have announced a cash prize of $100,000.00 U.S (Approx. Rs. 65 Lakhs) for the winner.
The competitions will be held in 5 main categories:
- 212 Pro Bodybuilding
- Pro Bikini
- Amateur Bodybuilding (India Classic) – in association with Indian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation
- Para Powerlifting
- Male Model Search
The panel of judges include prominent celebrities led by Lee Thompson, the Chairman of IFBB pro league. It is one of those events that not just honours the bodybuilders who have put in years of hard work, but also offers the right platform to boost their talents.
Mr. Sheru Aangrish, the C.E.O and host of Sheru Classic event believes in offering the right platform to the achievers to enter the desired arena. Also he believes that such events can get Indians recognize the professional bodybuilders as a winner in any other mainstream sport. He adds, “Though fitness industry generates a considerable amount of revenue and is ever growing, there are people who are still unaware of fitness and supplements. The whole event aims at filling this gap and creating a revolution”.
Referring to the same event, Mr. Harish Khari, Director of Fitness Guru, online fitness magazine and the official magazine partner of the show confessed that such events are necessary to create awareness among the current generation to adopt a better and healthy lifestyle.
15 leading Indian bodybuilders are believed to participate in the Amateur bodybuilder contest. The winner will receive cash prize and IFBB Pro Card which is awarded only to professionals with years of experience.
The Grand event will be followed by Health and Fitness Expo, a 2 day event consisting of over 100 service providers, vendors and industry experts exhibiting their brands, products and services.
It is expected that the Expo will fetch business and networking platform to the Indian fitness industry which is worth Rs 4,000 crores.
The launch of mobile and online platform will further add glory to Sheru Classic and widen the audience. The online tools and latest technology has added fuel to the potential of the athletes.
